Senior Director - Managed Hosting Products

Job Description

This position will provide leadership to the Product Managers and Product Architects for the Managed Hosting Products team focused on virtualization, cloud computing, operating systems and compute platforms.

Position Objectives:

• Grow profitable revenue by delivering products and services that meet our customers’ needs and are clearly differentiated from our competitors.

Essential duties:

• Lead individuals that develop and deliver product offerings, promotions/programs, and sales support and education.
• Build an in-depth product strategy that outlines the products, pricing, and promotions tactics for our managed hosting products.
• Work with the Solutions teams to ensure that key product capabilities needed to improve our competitive position in a key vertical or solution area are delivered.
• Provide support to account teams on key sales opportunities through pricing/positioning guidance, customer briefings, etc.
• Perform competitive analysis for our offerings, build gap closure plans and execute those plans to improve our competitive position in the market place.
• Work with key customers, prospects and sales teams, to develop an understanding of our customers’ needs and translate those needs into action plans. Actions may include new product development, existing product enhancement, new promotional activities, etc.
• Work with teams such as Sales, Product & Corporate Marketing, Pricing, Legal, Program Management, Software Development and Operations to ensure success throughout the life of a product.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure that product technical direction is well-defined and appropriate maintenance of the products is being performed.

Required skills:

• 8 – 10 years product management or related experience in the high tech sector.
• Proven ability to manage a successful product portfolio in the managed hosting or similar space.
• Demonstrable depth of knowledge in the managed hosting industry.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• MBA or equivalent experience preferred
