Job Title: Database Administrator - II

JOB RESPONSIBILITY/SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for maintaining the oracle databases and associated applications as well as managing external interfaces to the databases. This position will also require both technical level experience and the ability to interface with all levels of users (both internal and external). This position will require user support and training as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·        Support and maintain Oracle databases, applications and external interfaces

·        Support and maintain SQL Server databases, applications and external interfaces

·        System tuning, performance monitoring, and database maintenance

·        Shell script development as necessary to support the databases and external interfaces

·        SQL Tuning

·        Database Parameter Tuning

·        Experience with RMAN

·        Experience with Oracle Real-Application Clusters (RAC)

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Assist with application and user support when needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:
Minimum Experience: 5-7 years experience including Oracle 9i and 10g

Knowledge: Knowledge of Oracle database running in a Unix/Linux environment.  5+ years experience with Oracle utilities.  2+ years experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring and maintenance of database instances.  Knowledge of SQL Server 2000 or greater with 2+ years of experience. Experience with Oracle Real-Application Clusters (RAC).

Analytical/Interpersonal Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self Starter, Ability to work without supervision on short term projects. Excellent Troubleshooting skills are a must in this position.
