Senior portal Web Designer/ Developer with a strong background in design and architecture experience with IBM WebSphere Portal software.  As a member of a highly skilled technology team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing WebSphere-based solutions  on  websites and related creative projects. This position requires a highly skilled technical person with exceptional creative and communication skills.   

The Web Designer/Developer will work under the direction of both the IT and Brand Marketing groups, and as a team player will work collaboratively with other groups both internal and external (eg. Technical Services, Product, outside design firms, outside partners, etc.). He/she will be responsible for the following tasks:

·         Conceptualize and develop original design ideas following already established style, and branding guidelines.

·         Work with IT, Brand Marketing, and outside Design teams to brainstorm and develop designs based on wireframes and existing design templates

·         Build websites and page layouts from scratch, as well as update content and tweak design of existing web pages

·         Create web graphics, banners, icons, info-graphics, and multimedia content, such as photo galleries, slideshows and videos

·         Personal passion for cars, do-it-yourself automotive repair, hot rodding, or racing is not a requirement – but is considered a plus!

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1.       BS Computer Science or equivalent

2.       5+ years overall IT experience required

3.       1+ years Java/J2EE Programming experience or equivalent

4.       3+ years experience Web Architecture

5.       1+ years architecture and design of server-side J2EE applications

6.       2+ years WebSphere Portal Server or equivalent

7.       2+ years WebSphere Application Server or equivalent

8.       1+ years experience in relational database design, ERD documentation (Oracle, DB2)

9.       3+ years experience with requirements gathering and documentation

10.     1+ years proven mentoring/leadership experience on large enterprise projects

11.     E-Business and E-Commerce applied experience

12.     Experience with heterogeneous operating system environments such as UNIX and Windows

13.     Proven track record with integrating solutions in disparate platforms and technologies

14.     SOA Experience a plus

15.     Experience with Multiple Platforms and Development Environments.

16.     Experience in all facets of SDLC

17.     Front to back web application project experience

KNOWLEDGE:

1.       Intimate knowledge of the IBM WebSphere family of products

2.       Familiarity with Rational Unified Process (RUP) concepts
