JOB DESCRIPTION TACC JUNIOR WEB DEVELOPER.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The US Air Force at Scott AFB (Government) requires web development/maintenance to support a wide variety of data management needs . The web developer candidate will be required to develop and deploy web-based software applications in a ‘rapid prototyping and development’ environment. Developed web applications will be used to automate manpower-intensive data management/reporting functions, streamline management processes, and to reduce the time required to obtain, format/manipulate, and display/publish management data. The web developer will support the full software lifecycle to include gathering/refining requirements from US Air Force customers, designing software/web application, designing basic databases for the web applications, writing software code, testing software code and preparing software documentation. Specific web development tasks include but are not limited to the following: - Develop web-based applications to support their global customers - Develop software programs, applications, and tools to support their global customers - Develop and maintain databases supporting software applications and tools - Analyze, review, develop, and rewrite computer programs in support of information needs - Maintain legacy software programs. Assess and correct software and/or developmental program software malfunctions - Maintain and improve the TACC web site - Follow SAIC software development processes and configuration management for all software applications.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of general experience as a web developer. Six (6) years of general experience is considered equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Software skills must include: Writing web applications using C# or .ASP, HTML, XML and Java Script - Writing applications using Visual Basic or C# programming Using Structured Query Language (SQL) to retrieve and manipulate data - Writing applications in a Windows Server 2003/2008 and SQL Server 2005/2008 environment - Using MS Visual Studio 2005/2008 - Using all MS Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, Visio).
DESIRED SKILLS: - Structured Query Language (SQL) or Analysis Services/Reporting Services SQL Server data retrieval from AMC command and control databases (ideally from the Global Decision Support system (GDSS) - Working knowledge of GDSS - Background in Air Mobility Command and control systems (C2), networks, and procedures;
