Job Description:
Position Objectives:
- Support operations and maintenance of the disk and tape storage infrastructure.
- Assist in training first level support personnel to schedule and execute tape backups and training second level support engineers to configure storage requirements.
- Work with sales and customers on custom or unique storage or backup requirements.
- Provide top-level escalation support for operational engineers and hosting customers.
- Provide 24x7 support
- Provide consulting service to customers
- Provide off shift support for US operations
Essential duties:
- Set up and configure the required disk storage for customers.
- Perform all of the management functionality of the disk subsystem.
- Evaluate, integrate, and ensure timely implementation of potential new storage technologies.
- Address and resolve disk storage performance issues.
- Provide necessary customer configuration and installation documentation.
- Work with storage vendors to resolve service related issues.
- Implement disaster recovery responsibilities, processes and procedures.
- Work in a strong team environment with leading edge disk storage technologies.
- Install and configure Backup and Vault software for customers.
- Investigate and resolve reasons for unsuccessful back ups.
- Utilize tape application tools to improve back up efficiencies.
- Address and resolve back-up performance issues.
- Document standard operating procedures.
- Work with tape vendors to resolve service issues
- Implement disaster recovery responsibilities, processes and procedures.
- Support Field Engineer with on-site support to resolve any data management issues.
Required skills:
- Experience with management and support of large Disk Storage Subsystems.
- Experience with RAID, SCSI, and Fibre Channel.
- Knowledge of SAN FC switches configurations.
- Ability to work proficiently in UNIX , Linux and Windows operating systems environments
- Hands on experience working in a large fiber channel SAN with multiple directors, servers, and storage frames
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems involving servers, HBAs, storage, and switches
- Ability to do performance monitoring and analysis for storage across multiple operating systems environments (Solaris, Windows, Linux)
- Experience in managing disk and tape storage in VMware environment.
- Hands on experience working with tape libraries

- Veritas Volume Manager
- 3PAR Data Inform GUI / CLI, Hitachi Navigator Software
- EMC Connectrix Manager, EMC Control Center, EMC Solutions Enabler
- Veritas Foundation Suite, Volume Rep, and Cluster Server
- Tivoli Storage Manager
- McData and/or Brocade Fiber Channel Switches
- Strong troubleshooting and problem analytical skill
- Must have excellent teambuilding and communication skills.
- Provide ability to plan and organize work within a tight team oriented structure.

- Experience with Storage Area Networks.
